Actually allow me to interject and point out that this smuggie's point is not as good as it seems: while it is justifiable and solid criticism of idiots who always try to fit cis men and whiteness into everything, there are situations where it is legitimate to ask ourselves whether it is unfair to make a specific social limitation purely about gender and/or race

Aren't we entering forbidden territory here? While this rebuttal is legitimate, I fear that it only applies to edge cases: for the 10% of the situations where you could claim it's unfair that we can't make light of a situation by swapping the genders and/or races, there's 90% cases where it's used as a reactionary claim to get people angry and feed a moral panic

I guess this is a fair rebuttal, in the age of Internet debates it is acceptable to always assume the worst from anonymous people, as it is a common tactic for reactionaries to use sealioning strategies (appear innocent, appeal to rationality, etc. while pulling the debate in problematic directions), therefore maybe defending the reversal of races and/or genders is not the best idea - even though the concept in itself isn't always wrong or flawed

While you two are making good points, have you considered how impressive it is that progressive metal band The Ocean are still producing banger albums on a regular basis over 20 years after their creation, despite evolving in the very complex creative subgenres that are sludge metal and avant-garde metal

You know I hadn't even considered the longevity to quality ratio of their discography - it's insane to think that singer Loïc Rossetti has been with them for 14 years already, Heliocentric/Anthropocentric were such unexpected quality albums that dropped out of nowhere, good memories

Joke's on me though, I went to one of their concerts recently and loved the energy (as usual), but expected them to play the song Uncomformities off their latest album Holocene, not considering that it would require guest singer Karin Park to also be present at the show... which was beyond unlikely, maybe I am not the cleverest person around?
