Not racist countryside tour 😊😊😊

June 12nd 2024
Hello there, friend!

I know the countryside gets a bad reputation for being racist, and the results of the latest elections doesn't help...
But let me change your mind by giving you a tour of my beautiful village!
This is Gérard's house, look, he's waving back!

[a character in a house is waving in the distance]

He's a cool dude, not racist like all of us, we know he voted for the far right candidate but it was merely a "protest vote" against the elites (don't ask why you can't protest by voting far left instead ok)
Over there is our medieval church, it's a lovely 900 year old building we absolutely adore it

But I'll be real, since they changed our priest, we haven't gone in a while... we actually go to church the next city over, a 20 minute drive

What's wrong with the new priest? Well it's because he's blac... uh because he's not local and we'd rather have someone who knows us well since birth, you understand?
Over there is a place in which some Romani travelers have settled

You know I'd rather not discuss them too much, I have nothing against gyppos, well, except when they steal, but anyway...

Have you ever readβ€―Mein Kampf?

Haha don't worry that was just a joke anyway let's move on
Heyyyy look over there! It's our black and lebanese guys!

[two characters are looking neutral-annoyed]

See, we have people of color here too! They've been in this country forβ€―4 generations now so you know... we try our best to treat them like they're part of "us" so we invite them over sometimes because you know... they're some of the "good ones" (I won't elaborate)
Anyway, hope you liked the tour!

Hoefully you see now that our far right vote was not a racist vote but merely a protest vote

Have a nice trip back to your big city, hope you don't get stabbed by arabs there hahah... stay safe okay, see ya friendo!

About this comic
Not saying the countryside is better or worse than cities, stop taking this comic personally already πŸ₯Ί

Every single panel is based on a true story, which would be sadly mundane if the people involved in them didn't vehemently insist they weren't racist

It seems there were early seeds to the switch to pastel colors
